Indications: The dentition is deteriorated due to disease or trauma to the point that it is not feasible or cost effective to maintain the teeth. Immediate complete dentures are fabricated ahead of time and are fitted the day that the diseased or failed teeth are removed. During the course of healing (9-12 months), the immediate dentures are adjusted with tissue conditioning materials to improve fit, stability, and comfort.

After tissue and/or bone healing the immediate dentures are relined with a hard laboratory reline procedure, new dentures are fabricated, or implant therapy is undertaken.
