Greenwood Village
This gorgeous suburb of Denver maintains the authentic feeling of wide open with its 300 acres of parks and 100 acres of undeveloped land. The town combines the best of both urban and outdoor life with a trail system of 40 miles of scenic walking and biking areas while simultaneously housing the Denver Technological Center, a development of large buildings outside Denver where various technology-oriented companies base themselves. Commuters who are part of the Tech Center raise Greenwood Village’s daytime population a staggering a ~57,000.
Greenwood Village offers a wide variety of cultural and recreational activities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all interests. Lectures, outdoor concerts, art exhibits, dining and shopping are all available at Greenwood Village’s various businesses and public organizations. For outdoor recreation, developed outdoor parks and playgrounds as well as pedestrian, equestrian and bicycle trails are featured winding all throughout the town along the High Line Canal Trail on the west side of the city and the Cherry Creek Trail on the east side of the city. These trails are available for all residents and visitors alike to use and enjoy.
To take advantage of the open space surrounding Greenwood Village, residents and visitors can take in the picturesque views of the Rocky Mountains and find beautiful areas to relax among the natural environment in the Village’s most significant open space area, Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve. The Westlands and Silo Park are additional areas where families may enjoy comfortable recreation activities. Other types of parks featured around the Village include skate board parks as well as parks for equestrian users, such as Rollin D. Barnard Park and Alexander Lane Equestrian Park.
